From warmer, sunny days to the scent of fresh flowers beginning to bloom, it’s official – spring is here. It was a pretty dreary winter for many reasons, so spring feels like a much needed and very welcome arrival. The birds have started singing their seasonal hymns and there’s a feeling in the air of brighter, happier days ahead. What better way to fully immerse yourself in springtime than to have it reflect in your wardrobe colors?
To be honest, I would have never really considered green and lilac going together in the past. First of all, I wasn’t sure if I truly liked the pairing of the two colors. Secondly, I wasn’t sure if the pairing would even look good on me. But then I noticed it was a favorite springtime combination of blogger Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific, and I decided to give it a second chance. I’m so glad I did!
When it comes to lilac dresses, this lace dress is seriously the most stunning I’ve ever worn. It’s layers of lace and gorgeous lilac color make it pop as well as fit in appropriately for the season. Plus it’s designed by a Hong Kong designer, who happens to make some of the most beautiful pieces year round (see my previous posts about Sau Lee here and here).
For shoes, I first saw the ones I am wearing now in this post by my friend Sheryl Luke of Walkinwonderland. I knew I had to have them for myself and felt they’d be worth the splurge. I’ve actually worn them several times a week since adding them to my closet, and from the moment I saw the lilac Sau Lee gown I knew they’d pair beautifully together for spring.
