After busy mornings filled with quiet visits to breathtaking Buddhist temples and finding ourselves immersed in Thai royal history, followed by afternoons lounging by the pool and soaking up the warm Bangkok sun, the beau was eager to take me out for a much needed romantic dinner. At home in Hong Kong, finding an excuse to dress up for date night has become more rare these days as our time is filled with family especially whenever the beau is not traveling. During our mom-and-dad getaway, I chose to don a romantic date night look in Bangkok for a special one-on-one evening with the beau.
With no shortage of romantic rooftop restaurants in Bangkok, I was able to narrow it down to a few before finally selecting Paradise Lost (read my review about Paradise Lost here). With its pink walls and numerous green shrubbery, all underneath a glass roof on the 25th floor that gives a panoramic view of the massive city, I knew it would be the best place to have a glass of wine and a peaceful dinner with the beau. I selected a burgundy satin dress by Hong Kong brand Sau Lee, not only because I felt it matched well with the pink walls, but also for the dramatically sexy open back.

When it comes to romantic date nights, I like to think back on all the times the beau and I would dress up and feel like a royal couple as I wear a lovely dress while he handsomely wears a striking suit. Of course, moments like these happened more often before we welcomed the little bean, and the beau and I were eager to reignite some extra flames. I chose this dress not only because it works for the renowned heat and humidity, but because it makes for an extremely romantic date night look in Bangkok. For some other romantic date nights, I also love this dress with the lace detail, this dress because it’s similar to my dress, and this dress because of its striking color, whether it’s at home or abroad.

For my hair and makeup, I chose to slick my hair back in a bun to not fight with the high heat and humidity. The bun also paired well with the high neck of my dress, which meant I was really eager to make my skin glow. I kept my makeup look simple, since heavy makeup in hot weather did not appeal to me (or my skin). As a base, I used this priming moisturizer that gives my skin a very natural glow. I then used this concealer to touch up under my eyes and this mascara to help my lashes stand out. I have used this blush for the last 2 years as my only blush, along with this bronzer just to help even out some of the color I got on our trip. Next I used this highlighter that I have sworn by for the last year, followed by a simple lip treatment to emphasize my natural color. This very simple makeup look was extremely romantic for our date night on the rooftop.
