My Cayman Islands Packing List

shop the post

Tonight, I am escaping metropolis and I am headed off to paradise known as the Cayman Islands. I haven't been to the Caribbean in several years, nor have I ever been to the Cayman Islands. This is also an extremely special trip, as my best friend is getting married and I cannot wait to celebrate her! I can just picture our serene week on the island now - the calmest, bluest waters to rival my favorite cerulean blue crayon as a child, the marriage of pink and orange to make the most beautiful and romantic of sunsets, and the immersion into a new culture I have yet to experience. Packing for this trip has been fun, as you'll see in this Cayman Islands packing list, since it means I get to bring out some romantic, flirty dresses one last time before winter. For those who want to escape the cooler weather trickling in but do not want tot suffer the stifling, tropical heat in the midst of summer, then the fall and winter season is the best time for you to go to the Cayman Islands. I've been planning outfits for my trip accordingly, knowing that it will stay hot and humid even into the early morning hours. So while you all know how much I love a good sweater, I definitely won't be bringing any on this trip.

However, with the heat in mind, that means I am focusing on looser dresses, plus dresses made of lighter material such as silk or chiffon. As we are expected to participate in several water activities, cotton retains moisture the longest and so I probably won't be wearing much cotton on this trip.

Here are the items that are definitely included on my Cayman Islands packing list:

- This gorgeous off the shoulder peach floral dress for a dinner.

- This green loose belted dress for exploring the caves on the island (also love this color and this color; similar here, here, and here).

- This faux pearl bag.

- This comfy loungewear to relax in and possibly for morning yoga on the beach.

- A polka dotted swimsuit (similar here and here).

- This romantic red chiffon gown for a dinner.

- My favorite swim cover up I last wore in Santa Barbara.

- This gorgeous oversized hat that I am currently obsessed with.

- These comfy slides for all the walking we will be doing (no heels during the day for this girl!).

- This holy grail of a sunscreen for my face to prevent any sunburn.

- My favorite perfume to wear while on the beach.

Can’t wait to read about this trip to the Cayman Islands! I really love the red dress you’re packing 🙂 I have a bikini from Oysho which is very similar to the one I saw in your pictures (even if mine is yellow) and I love Jo Malone fragrances too (I recently bought the Orange Blossom one!)
