Wales
We began our UK road trip in a country that should get much more love and attention than it does - Wales. A lot of my friends have explored most of England and Scotland, but we felt like Wales seemed a little untouched despite being absolutely gorgeous and rich in so much more royal history than people might think. I cannot wait to go into more details about our Wales excursions, especially since we got quite lucky with clear skies and warm days every single day of our 4-day visit.
Hotels we stayed at: The Principal St. David's Hotel Cardiff, The Angel in Abergavenny, and Llangoed Hall near Brecon Beacons.
Restaurants we dined at: The Admiral St. David, Afternoon Tea at The Angel, The Oak Room, and Llangoed Hall.
Places we stopped at: St. Fagans, Cardiff Castle, Alison Tod, The Culinary Cottage, Penderyn Distillery, Brecon Beacons, Brecon Cathedral

After saying "farewell" to a blissful 4 days in Wales, we drove under 2 hours east from the Welsh border to one of the most famous parts of England - The Cotswolds. I had been dying to visit The Cotswolds for years, and we had a packed itinerary to see the best of the best. With our luxury vehicle getting us from A to B (and sometimes C and D in the same day!), we bounced around from castles and Downton Abbey shooting locations to luxury hotels and fine restaurants. It only rained one day on our entire visit, but that wasn't stopping us. Even in the rain, the Cotswolds is a magically beautiful place that feels like it jumped off of the illustrated pages of a storybook.
Hotels we stayed at: Sheep on Sheep Street, Barnsley House
Restaurants we dined at: Sheep on Sheep Street (get the burger!), Old Stocks Inn, The Swan Swinbrook (the best lunch on our whole trip!), The Potager at Barnsley House
Places we stopped at: Sudeley Castle, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton Vale (horseriding through Upper and Lower Slaughter), Swinbrook, Bampton (Downton Village in Downton Abbey), Bibury
More blog posts from both Wales and the Cotswolds are coming soon, including everything I wore and more! Based off of our social media posts, which spot was your favorite from our UK road trip? Which destination are you looking forward to reading about the most?**Please note that our itinerary was created in partnership with Visit Britain, and our car rental was provided by Hertz. Hello from Europe! As you can already probably tell from our social media posts, we have been on an incredibly adventurous (and incredibly long!) trip around Europe. I apologize for the delay in posts on here, as we’ve barely even had time to have lunch 90% of the time on this trip. But we wouldn’t change it for the world, and we are so excited to give you a little glimpse into one big part of our grand European adventure – our UK road trip!
There will be more posts going more in-depth about each spot we visited around the UK with Visit Britain, but until then I am giving you all a brief summary on what we did and where we went on our UK road trip. From stunning historic palaces to delicious restaurants to some of the most luxurious hotels, we covered quite a lot of ground in 8 days. Even then, 8 days still wasn’t enough! There’s still so much more to see and do around the United Kingdom – in Wales, England, Scotland, and even Northern Ireland. But for those adventurous 8 days, we hopped into our luxury Mercedes Benz crossover from Hertz (which the receptionist kindly upgraded us to after seeing just how many bags we had!) after landing at Heathrow, and off we went!
