Under The Tuscan Sun

Tor and I chose to spend a few days in Chianti not only to relax but also to drink some homegrown Tuscan wine. In case you don't know, wine is pretty much my one and only alcohol of choice. I blame my parents for that, since both are big wine lovers (my father is even opening a wine bar this summer, so yeah it runs in my family!).

To be honest, as I write this post, I am currently drinking a glass of sauvignon blanc (my favorite!). I do think I drank more wine in Italy than I normally do in an entire year! Each night I promised to take a little break but nope. The wine is just so delicious there. We spent our second day wine tasting in the Chianti region, which is famous for its wine. Since Chianti is a red wine and I'm not a red wine fan, Tor indulged in some local Chianti at Casalvento Winery & Vineyards. I, however, did not leave empty handed. We ended up leaving with two bottles of their AMAZING rosé! I can't help it!), we wandered through the plethora of vineyards in the region. There are some right alongside the road where you can see the grapes from your car. Since I have a fear of flying, everyone was telling me I would probably be too afraid to step into the balloon. After a small panic attack as the balloon began to lift, Tor helped me see that hot air balloons are super safe. It was also the smoothest flying of any kind I have ever done in my life (Tor compared it to floating along on a river). It also gave us a pretty impressive birds eye view of the Tuscan wine region just as the sun was coming up. After seeing your Snapchats about going on a sunrise hot air balloon ride I’ve most definitely added that to my bucket list! It looked so beautiful!

I absolutely adore your blog and always look forward to your classy, feminine fashion choices. I’m in love with your dress in this post, but I’m a bit confused WHAT dress you’re wearing in the pictures? The first link goes to “The Dawn Dress” on Christy Dawn, but the second link (also available here) goes to “Dawn Dress” on Free People? If you have a minute to clarify, I would greatly appreciate it!

Rosé di Montemaggio IGT is an organic Tuscan wine with a vivid rose colour, and a fruity bouquet. It is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes and it has a full and refreshing taste. It is the result of the transient encounter with the must of the Sangiovese grapes’ skin. The short hours spent together give to this wine its vivid rose colour and a morbid character with a bit of acidity, freshness and lightness.
