4 Skin Care Must Haves For Flights

Keeping my skin hydrated and clear while traveling can be quite the challenge. Airplane air is extremely drying, and my skin is naturally on the dry side. Plus, I travel to a lot of different climates which can also affect my skin. Traveling in winter means I need extra hydration and care for my skin, but even when I travel to tropical, humid climates I still need to give my skin extra TLC on travel days. A lot of my flights are usually long haul as well, which means I am in the air for ten or twelve hours at a time.

When I am flying with little bean, I tend to apply my skin care when she is busy with a movie or has fallen asleep. When I travel without little bean, I tend to do my first round of skin care before going to sleep myself and then a quick refresh just before landing. From my absolute must have toning pads to my favorite collagen mask that gives me the best glowing skin, I’m sharing my 4 skin care must haves for flights below.

Toning Pads

I swear by these zero pore pads at home and when I am traveling. It’s quite large, so it can be difficult to put in my carry-on when I am traveling with little bean, but it is absolutely worth it when I want to really refresh my skin. I don’t like washing my face with airplane sink water, so I tend to skip using face wash while in the air. Instead, I use both sides of my pore pads to exfoliate and tone my skin. I have been using these pads since November and I have been absolutely obsessed. My blackheads have been reduced and any excess sebum or oil is completely cleared out. It’s the best way to exfoliate my skin while traveling.

Collagen Mask

Collagen is really important for hydrating my skin and eliminating any fine lines, and when it comes to traveling with my dry skin I need a little boost of collagen to give it a healthy glow. This collagen mask is INCREDIBLE. If you want your skin to glow and have that glass skin appearance, this is the mask for you. Even if I have gotten zero sleep on the plane, this mask helps my skin feel ready for anything as soon as I arrive at my destination. After applying a layer on, I let it sit for at least 30 minutes before peeling it off. In that time I usually order a cup of tea, get work done on my computer, read a book, or watch a bit of my favorite TV shows on my iPad. After I peel it off (I use the plastic tweezers from the pore pads above), it reveals smooth, glowing skin that feels so hydrated.

Moisturizer

To lock in the hydration from the collagen mask, I like to use this overnight rice mask as a moisturizer to seal everything in for the remainder of my flight. I use this at home as my nighttime moisturizer and the last step in my skin care routine, so it’s also one of the last steps in my skin care routine when I travel. Rice is well known as a natural brightener, so this rice mask not only hydrates but brightens too. It makes my skin look luxurious as if I just came from the spa and not a long haul flight.

Eye Cream

The final step in my skin care routine is my eye cream, which lately has been this eye cream that I usually use for daytime. I have a retinol eye cream for nighttime, but I don’t use retinol on the airplane at the moment. This eye cream hydrates under my eyes, which helps them look awake even if I am jet lagged or got zero sleep while traveling with a toddler.

With these 4 K-beauty products, my skin feels less tight and less dry, and instead it feels more clean and refreshed. I don’t wear makeup on travel days, so having a good skin care routine makes me feel put together without needing anything else. Despite all the jet lag or getting no sleep on the plane, my skin appreciates the TLC I give it when I am traveling.
