My sister handmade each invitation to look like tea bags and filled them with actual tea leaves! She also had a clever way to telling the guests to dress their best and wear their finest hat.Four different types of tea were set up in beautiful white teapots (my sister respects my love for anything classic white!), such as Earl Grey, Black Assam, and Green Tea.My sister also went great lengths to research what food went with what tea, and so on each card by each plate she listed which tea paired best with which bite! The littlest details were carefully thought out! It's not a proper tea party without scones and shortbread, freshly baked by my mother the morning of.To top it all off, my mother also baked me a golden cake with white and green frosting... can you guess why? Hint: they're our wedding colors!I felt so touched and so special for my family bridal shower. My sister and mother went out of their way to make the day more than perfect. And it was so great that two of my besties came as well! I have four bridesmaids, and two were unable to make the journey to New Jersey (I am not the kind of bride who demands people drop things for me) but I was so glad that one of my bridesmaids flew down from Toronto to be a part of this day. I was so grateful for everyone who came and for all the incredible gifts T and I received (our dream kitchen is coming together thanks to everyone's generosity!).
My second bridal shower is coming up soon in Los Angeles with a very different theme! Any guesses? I am finally sharing some behind the scenes images from my first bridal shower held on February 13 in my home state of New Jersey! This was a private family event, but that didn’t stop my fabulous sister/maid of honor and my mother from going all out and throwing me a royal tea party fit for the Duchess of Cambridge herself!
Before I was engaged and even shortly after getting engaged, I wasn’t so keen on having a bridal shower. I tend to get shy and coy on my own birthday so I couldn’t even imagine how shy I would be for my bridal shower! But my sister Jessica encouraged me and talked me into it, and I think I know why. Not only is she such a loving sister, but she loves throwing parties and after what she did for this bridal shower I think she should throw more!
My sister knows how obsessed I am with London and British royal history, and she also knows how much I enjoy afternoon tea, so she put the two together and made the theme of the shower be a royal tea party! She researched everything – from what bites of food match best with which tea to what kind of fascinators Kate Middleton wears.
I wasn’t allowed to know anything about the shower except that it was going to be a tea party. I had not seen the invitations, I had not seen the menu prior to the shower, and I did not even know who was coming! Everything was kept a big surprise. I was told to wear white, and that’s about it. My mom surprised me with the most gorgeous white fascinator when I arrived at the shower, but before that I was blindfolded and led upstairs so I could not see anything until everything was finished being set up. But when I came downstairs, my heart fluttered and I could not stop smiling!

When your bridal shower was so wonderful,
i can believe that your wedding will be perfect.
I wish you and Torrance all best for the future, together with your both Darlings Renly and Denerys.
Have much fun at you next bridal shower. ????????
Omg, that looks fantastic! I can’t wait for the wedding!
Does your next shower have to do with another era or perhaps Game of Thrones? That’s my wild guess!
