I am sure by now you have probably heard the exciting news – T and I got married this past weekend! We’ll be sharing more of our wedding later on with The Knot, but first I am reminiscing about the wonderful lead-up to our special weekend including my purrrrrfect Los Angeles bridal shower!
I was super excited to have the first details from my bridal shower be released by The Knot. It felt like the perfect prelude to T and I’s special day.
It’s no secret how much I adore my fur babies Renly and Daenerys. When I contacted my wedding planners Christina and Erica at Cake & Punch about planning my bridal shower, we all agreed that it would make sense for the shower to be a complete reflection of me. Since my mom and sister threw me the perfect royal tea party the month prior, we brainstormed ideas for my second bridal shower for about 2 seconds because it was quite obvious what the second theme would be – a kitty themed shower!
It’s safe to say that I have become obsessed with wearing white since my engagement, and I don’t see that subsiding anytime soon even after my wedding. I knew weeks in advance of my shower what I was going to wear – the perfect white lace dress.
And since the shower was kitty themed, how could I not have the perfect kitty clutch?
I began researching venue options on The Knot for bridal shower locations in Los Angeles. One spot that caught my attention immediately was Alcove and their private event cottage. T and I frequent Alcove and its sister restaurant Aroma, so it was already a place I was familiar with which made it even more of a perfect spot.
Christina and Erica at Cake & Punch also have a flower crown company, and since I knew early on that I wanted all my guests to be adorned with flower crowns made from real flowers, I trusted them to handle all the florals.
Kaylyn at the Pirouette Paper Company and my wedding planners surprised me with the invitation drafts including the photo of my cats inside the envelope! Seriously, how cute?!
The cat themed continued throughout the shower with the place cards on the champagne flutes and the signs throughout the venue.
Food and drinks are super important to me for ANY party, so I knew I was in good hands with Alcove since they have one of my favorite French toast dishes (yes, it was on the menu!). They collaborated with me on two custom cocktail drinks we affectionately named after my two cats – a pomegranate mimosa named Daenerys and a vodka cocktail named Renly.
And what party ends without cake? Not a good one! For the shower, I chose one of Alcove bakery’s signature cakes – a vanilla bean cake infused with orange blossom liquor and layers of mixed berries, whipped cream, and white chocolate. I took the remaining cake home for T and it was devoured!
One of my favorite parts of my shower were the favors for my guests. Winky Lux has one of my favorite lipstick colors appropriately named Meow, and they were kind enough to pamper my guests my their own Meow lipsticks (which were personalized for The A List!).
In the end, both of my bridal showers exceeded my expectations thanks to some pretty incredible people in my life. Both showers were a reflection of me and two of my favorite interests.

What a lovely idea! Your post reflects so well the mood of the day! It feels like I have been with you there myself. MrsC from mrsinlondon.co.uk
Thank you!
Lovely but do you realize your address is on the envelopes?
I noticed that too!
That’s not my real address 😉 None of those addresses are. They’re all fake, that’s why I didn’t mind posting those images.
That’s what I was thinking after I posted my comment. lol
I would like to see some photos of your presents you got at the showers and for the wedding and I am sure I am not the only one interested in a blog post with photos about your dream kitchen and what you like to cook there. 🙂
As Charlie Sheen says, this article is “WNNGINI!”
I am absolutely in love with this “purrrrfect” bridal shower! Even sent it to my sister (aka maid of honor) in hopes it might inspire her to create something similar! My fiancé and I are absolutely in love with our little furbaby and joke all the time about how we will grow up to have a family of each other, three cats, and probably no children because we treat our cat as our child. 😉 Now I just have to figure out what to put on my shower registry. Can’t get over how cute this is! Congratulations!
Awww thank you! I think a kitty themed bridal shower would suit any fellow kitty lover! The ideas are endless 🙂
Wow, you are too beautiful, I love you
