It’s so wonderful being back home in California for the holidays. I am excited that I get to spend New Year’s at home in Los Angeles with family and friends this year. T and I said sayonara to Toronto for the year, packed our fur babies, and headed back to sunny L.A. for some much needed down time and family time. I actually haven’t celebrated New Year’s in Los Angeles before despite living here for nearly 5 years. I have either been in New York, San Francisco, Vancouver, or Hawaii, so I am ready to welcome 2015 in my home city. I hope everyone has awesome New Year’s Eve plans, whether they are at home or traveling abroad!
One way to ring in the new year is with the perfect party dress (mine is from Lovers + Friends) and a statement accessory. It’s no secret that I do not wear jewelry often (I don’t even have my ears pierced!), but there’s one other accessory that I will always make an exception for – a crown! My Miss USA days may be behind me, but I can still feel like a queen with the perfect adornment! This crown was made by Meredith Pollack (the costume designer on the CW’s Reign) and Amanda Judge of Untamed Petals.
