This past weekend, my bestie Natalie from NYC came to town before she headed off to Japan (so jealous!). I met Natalie back in February 2012 (NYFW 2012, to be exact), and since then we have stayed super close (you've probably seen all of our NYFW posts together over the years!). Since she lives in NYC and I live in Los Angeles, I don't see her as much as I used to when I lived in NYC and Toronto, so whenever she comes to town we always make a girls day out of it!

Whenever Natalie comes to town, we always know to expect a fun, organized dinner (she's probably the best event planner/organizer/overseer/master of ceremonies I have ever met) as well as plenty of time for us girls. Usually she always is the reason why Tor and I find ourselves at Disneyland (we brought along my other bestie Addy on a recent trip to SoCal), but since she was trekking off to Japan shortly after she arrived in Los Angeles, we really only had time for a day in Beverly Hills.

Do you ever just have that friend that, despite being apart for a while, whenever you see each other it's as if you weren't separated for so long and you pick up right where you left off? That's definitely Natalie and I. We are both entrepreneurs as well (she co-founded her company The Social Co), so that's something we share and can talk about for hours together as we basically plot world domination.

We didn't plan our outfits, but you can tell we have been friends for a while since we both chose patterned dresses that are perfect for spring. If you remember from my Napa packing list post, I initially planned on wearing this dress in Napa. However, it was a bit cooler and little more rainy that I expected, so I never got the chance to wear it. It also comes in white, which was my first choice when I first saw this dress, but they didn't have my size at the time (now they do... mwahaha!) so I fell in love with the blue version, and Natalie happened to match in her floral dress. Girls - we coordinate even if we didn't plan to!

Sadly I didn't get to join Natalie on her trip to Japan (she begged me to join but I promised Tor we could go together for our first time hopefully later this year), but be sure to follow her on Instagram as she makes it there just in time for the end of the cherry blossom season.

On Natalie: Ted Baker dress (also love this one and this one)
On Alyssa: Vivetta dress (also available in white and black; also LOVE this one), Madewell sandals (on sale, also available here; I also bought them in red), Mansur Gavriel bag (also LOVE this pink one), Illesteva sunglasses

Gorgeous dress and such a cute friendship! Makes me think of my bestie.
Side note: are those Madewell sandals comfortable? I am such a baby when it comes to having comfortable footwear. Have been eyeing those for a while in the red.
The A List
I’m a baby about comfy footwear too, and yes they’re VERY comfy!!! It’s why I also bought them in red! I’ve worn these every single day this week 🙂

I love dropping in in your blog so much. It’s delightful to keep up with your travels and fun excursions! It always saddens me just a bit because it feels as if we could have been good friends from the little comments you make throughout your posts. I adore your personality and often see many of my own interests reflected in what you’re actively doing. I’ll have to settle for having you as an amazing insporation for now, but I do hope to meet you in person one day. 🙂 thanks for the continued posts full of gorgeous dresses and stunning sights!
The A List
Awww thank you Halie! We can still be friends… I consider all my readers as friends because that’s how I write my posts, as if I was talking to my friends!
I hope to meet you in person someday too!
