It’s officially March (which is crazy – how is it March already?!). Spring is literally right around the corner, which means the weather start to change, the days will slowly become longer, and flowers will start to bloom. Other things that will change include our wardrobe, with winter pieces being switched for spring and summer pieces that have been in storage. Sweaters will be traded for dresses and coats will be traded for swimsuits. One style accessory that doesn’t have to be switched out just yet are boots, which springtime being the optimal time to transition your spring wardrobe with boots.
February was an abnormally warm month here in Hong Kong, and I was disappointed that I was probably going to have to put my favorite boots away until autumn. However, March (my birthday month!) is looking like it will be much cooler than February as we enter spring, and I’m excited to pair some of my favorite boots with some of my favorite springtime dresses. As we transition into spring, two of my favorite outfit combinations are dresses and boots (with a jacket for cold mornings and evenings), and sweaters paired with shorts and boots. Below I’m sharing some of my favorite kinds of boots for spring.
Boots may be my favorite shoe even though they’re not meant for year-round (especially in Hong Kong). I think I have more boots in my closet than heels, and that’s because I find them extremely comfortable as well as extremely flattering. Depending on the boot, they can elevate an outfit. For springtime, I tend to gravitate towards lighter colored boots, saving black, burgundy, and navy for autumn and winter. In spring, it’s all about cream, lilac, green, and snakeskin. These colors pair best with springtime sweaters, dresses, and jackets. I’ve rounded up some favorites that fit all budgets to go with any perfect spring outfit.
I currently have these boots on frequent rotation with my wardrobe, since cream colored boots go with pretty much everything, especially a floral dress. Another cream colored boot that’s really on trend at the moment for spring is the cowboy boot, and I’m in love with these (I currently have them in my cart!). If you want to go for a more bold look, I suggest trying green, lilac, or floral. I have green boots similar to these that pair beautifully with cream or floral dresses. Another bold boot color choice is lilac, and these ones are absolutely stunning. For the boldest look, a floral boot will certainly turn heads as well as scream “spring”.
