As of March 3, 2021, Napa County is currently under a Red Tier in regards to the State of California’s COVID-19 restrictions. There are no quarantine requirements for arrivals in California, however the United States has prohibited arrivals from several countries if you have been there within the last 14 days (see list here). Please note that this blog post serves as a reference for travel later in the future. Nonessential international travel is not recommended at this time.
Picture a cozy cottage nestled amongst olive trees and towering palm trees on top of a hillside that overlooks endless miles of prestigious, inviting vineyards. And within that cottage, picture yourself pouring a glass of a rich, bold cabernet sauvignon that bursts with oak and blackberry flavor. Now picture yourself taking that very glass of wine and settling into your outdoor tub or your very own fire pit underneath the trees and the first stars that have come out to play. This briefly sums up our romantic wine country escape to Carneros Resort within Napa Valley to celebrate the start of cabernet season.
My favorite activity after a long day was filling up the outdoor bathtub underneath the stars. The air was cold and crisp (my first time seeing my breath in the air this season), which added to the magic of the experience. Being submerged in hot bath water surrounded by bubbles, while enjoying a glass of wine, as Orion slowly makes his way across the sky was exactly what I wanted.
Breakfast and dinner were also highlights on our visit, with us having breakfast at Boon Fly Café to try their famous donut holes and having dinner at their critically acclaimed restaurant Farm. The donut holes were a hit, as they waited to serve us hot ones to go. Then for our final night, we toasted the end of our cabernet season excursion to Napa Valley with some red wine and good hearty food at Farm, devouring dishes such as potato leek soup, jidori chicken, and seared tuna. We ended the night with a lovely walk under the stars back to our cottage.
Our visit to Carneros Resort & Spa was short but sweet. We could easily find ourselves back again with a few friends, as its the perfect spot for friends or families to gather but also have their own space. But for this trip, it was the ultimate romantic couples getaway to experience our first cabernet season.
Thank you to Carneros Resort & Spa for hosting our stay. Although we were guests of Carneros Resort & Spa, opinions in this post are my own.

Sounds like a beautiful place. 😊The out door tub is a neat idea. I have never seen one before. It might be cheaper than a jacuzzi for some people and the water wouldn’t have to have chemicals.
