It has been a little while since my last post! Life started to get in the way with a trip back to Los Angeles for a week and then immediately flying to New York for New York Fashion Week. I have been a part of New York Fashion Week for five years now (8 seasons), and I always love walking away from New York Fashion Week feeling inspired on so many levels.

My favorite part of New York Fashion Week is not just about the shows, but also planning my outfits for the week. Contrary to what people believe, I do not hire a stylist for New York Fashion Week. As a style blogger, I like the challenge of dressing myself for events. I get excited when I come up with a certain look for different events, whether I am being dressed by the designers (which means they lend me clothes to wear for the show that I choose and create a look from) or dressing myself.
For day 1 of NYFW, I chose this Marissa Webb trench dress. I love how this piece can be worn as either a dress or a jacket. Since New York was stifling hot for the start of NYFW, I chose to wear it as a dress and paired it with my favorite Stuart Weitzman boots. Since it was raining, I covered my hair with my latest favorite Janessa Leone hat.
