Happy Friday! It’s been a busy week back home in LA after a wonderful weekend getaway to Arizona! Some BIG and exciting things are happening (I cannot wait to share the news with you guys!). I love seeing my daily calendar filled up! From meeting up with old friends to meetings for the blog to interviews for the upcoming Miss USA telecast, I’m a little pooped! But I wouldn’t want it any other way. I do love keeping busy seeing the people I love and doing things I am passionate about.
But this past weekend in Arizona was exactly what T and I (and the cats) needed. We had planned on this trip happening for some time, and even though we went on this trip almost as soon as we got home from Toronto, it was well worth it. I love seeing T with his family. I know family means a lot to him as it does to me. On our final night before the long car ride back to Los Angeles, T’s family took us to Happy Hour at a beautiful resort out in Scottsdale. It had been raining during the day and evening, but once we finished our drinks the sun decided to pop out and we had a glorious view of the sunset. Watching Camelback Mountain change colors as the sun continued to set just reiterated the beauty of nature and the Earth. Again, since I grew up on the shores of New Jersey, I am not used to seeing mountain ranges or deserts (or cacti!). It was just one of those evenings where everything around me felt beautiful and where I felt really grounded in where, and even who, I was in that moment.
For our last night in Arizona, I had saved a gorgeous white lace dress from Chicwish specifically for that evening. Since the dress was simple yet romantic, I chose to be daring and pair my favorite gladiator sandals with it. Why not evoke a little Greek goddess in the Arizona desert?
Also you may notice in my photos below that I did not Photoshop out any of the cuts and bruises on my legs and knees. For those of you who know me, I am probably the biggest klutz in the world. I am constantly running into things, tripping, falling, etc. My blog is my blog and my fashion posts are like a story. I happened to have cuts and bruises that day we shot these pictures (I had a bad fall the day before). Photoshopping them out would be like erasing part of that story. I see so many people on Facebook and Instagram use apps to edit out any flaws, and I am one of those trying to make a stand and prove you don’t have to edit them out. Embrace your flaws. They make you YOU. I don’t have perfect legs (never have) and that’s okay – they are a part of me, and I shouldn’t be worried about editing all of them out of each and every photo because that’s just wasted energy. There’s no shame in my non-perfect legs. So I challenge you to be natural in your pics on social media and embrace your flaws. Flaws are beautiful!

I love your hair! Also, the gladiators were a great choice! I have to say I can relate when it comes to scratched-up legs (24/7 might I add). But it’s great that you’re promoting embracing flaws. Loved the post!

It would be hard to over estimate how much I don’t like gladiator sandals BUT i absolutely LOVE the concept of pairing this sweet, feminine dress with the more edgy sandals. Such an inspired look!
I tried to find the aforementioned leg imperfections, they seem pretty perfect to me. Love the look, very cute.
loving the hair and the gladiator sandals its looks like you are having fun
Perfection! Your blog post and words were very inspirational! I hope many people follow your “no photoshop flaws” outlook! We are always covering up things that should shine through. You look like a real Greek goddess ! From the hair to the shoes ! Love it! I always enjoy reading about your adventures! Keep on blogging 🙂
