For this week’s Friday Favorites, I’m sharing some of my favorite skin care products that I have brought along with me on my trip across Europe. Since we are constantly moving around and exposing our skin to certain elements (such as pollution, new food, even the tap water), I make sure that my skin gets the proper care it needs.
Facial Cleanser: Kora Organics Exfoliating Cream – This cleanser is from Miranda Kerr’s organic skincare line Kora Organics. I’ve heard excellent reviews about this brand, and when I saw Kora Organics was available on Net-a-porter for delivery in the US, I knew I had to give it a try. I’m in love with this cleanser because the small beads exfoliate away dead skin cells but the cream of the cleanser hydrates my skin and keeps it from drying out.
Daytime Moisturizer: Balmology Calendula & Chamomile Comfort Balm – This moisturizer is as all natural and organic as you can get. I have to credit one fellow blogger Kristina Bazan for introducing me to this brand. I had been searching for an all natural moisturizer, and this moisturizer is a winner especially since most of ingredients are simply avocado oil, lavender, beeswax, apricot, chamomile, rose oil, and immortelle (which is a flower whose oil helps with skin rejuvenation). This moisturizer is light, which is why I use it during the day.
Nighttime Moisturizer/Travel Moisturizer: Earth Tu Face Balm – This moisturizer is a godsend. Another moisturizer with immortelle and rose oil, this moisturizer is a bit creamier than my Balmology face balm, which makes this the perfect overnight moisturizer (or for travel to help skin handle the dehydrating air on planes). While I am sleeping, my skin is being rehydrated and rejuvenated and I LOVE how my skin looks first thing in the morning.
Eye Cream: Estelle & Thild Lifting Eye Serum – This Swedish brand’s eye cream is the only eye cream I have ever used that does not make my eyes flare up or create red bumps under my eyes. I apply this eye cream on at night before bed or on travel days to help with any lines/dark circles from exhaustion or to help de-puff. Another plus? It’s made with all organic ingredients and is free of parabens and synthetics.
Blemish Treatment: Malin & Goetz Nighttime Acne Treatment (also available here) – Just in case all my travel did irritate my skin and cause a breakout, I came prepared with my favorite superhero against any evil, villainous blemishes. This is an overnight treatment that usually zaps breakouts in a few hours. Take a Q-tip and dot the blemish with the acne treatment and leave on overnight (you might want to take a selfie for laughs afterwards).
Mask: Boscia Luminizing Black Mask – I am pretty obsessed with this mask. Have you ever used a Bioré strip to clean out your pores on your nose? This mask is pretty much like one GIANT Bioré strip. After you apply the mask (you’ll want to take a selfie with this one too) and leave it on for 30 minutes to harden, you have to peel it off instead of wash it off. Yes it can sting a little, but you can feel how deep this mask went into your pores to clean all the gunk out.
Face Wipes: Yes To Carrots (also available here) – I discovered this brand while browsing my local Walgreens, and after trying out Yes To Cucumbers for a while, I decided to try Yes To Carrots because it’s a little extra nourishing. It’s probably the most gentle face wipe I have ever used. I use these when I am feeling THAT lazy and can’t be bothered to wash my face or to remove the stubborn bits of makeup still left on my eyes.
Wondering if you’ve tried Celtic Complexion skincare? Good stuff & natural. Might be good for your skin type. I’m gonna have to check out all the goodies you posted too. They sound great!
Hi there, is there anyway that I will be able to get these products in South Africa?
Kind regards
Quick question for ya! I recently decided to try a few Boscia products and picked up the black mask. How often would you recommend using this product? I’ve heard that it is a fairly intense mask and don’t want to over do it.
